Halcion Drug

Since then according to drugs.com, Triazolam is supposed to be used for short term treatment for insomnia (7-10 days). For use of more than 2 weeks requires complete re-evaluation of the patient.  When using the Halcion Drug it is recommended that you take it 20-30 minutes before you go to sleep.

Side effects of using the Halcion drug

• swelling of your face, lips, tongue or throat
• fast heartbeats
• slurred speech
• hallucinations
• temporary memory loss
• sleep walking
• allergic reactions

Another serious thing to consider is the use of the Halcion drug during pregnancy. According to drugs.com, the Halcion drug is a contraindicated in pregnant women. Also if a patient is going to become pregnant while taking Halcion, she should be warned about the potential risk to the fetus. Patients should be instructed to discontinue usage of the Halcion Drug becoming pregnant.

Other contraindications with the Halcion drug, according to drugs.com, are ketoconazole, itraconazole, and nefazodone, medications that significantly impair the oxidative metabolism mediated by cytochrome.

Halcion Drug with Other Drugs

Taking the Halcion Drug while drinking alcohol can increase the likelihood of side effects and in some cases could be deadly.  If you have a problem with alcohol you must tell your doctor.  You should also not combine the Halcion Drug with any other type of sleep medications.  Other drugs that you should tell your doctor you are taking are birth control, any type of antibiotics, antidepressants and any medications that are prescribed for heart problems while taking the Halcion Drug.

Overdosing on Halcion Drug

You should only take the recommended dosage that you are prescribed by your physician of the Halcion Drug.  If you do take more than you are prescribed you should immediately get emergency assistance.  Since the main drugs in Halcion are so strong using to much could end up being fatal.  Overdosing could also cause the increase of your blood pressure.  If you were to ever miss a dose you do not want to make it up the next day.  This should not happen because you are always supposed to take the Halcion Drug within 20-30 before bed, which is an easy schedule to follow.
